Most work streams begin around $7,500 to $25,000+.
Most people who get in touch don't know exactly what they need yet. That's normal. Here's why the price is a range, what moves a project from one end to the other, and what you get either way.
Why it's a range and not a price list.
A price list works when every client buys the same thing. Nobody does. One company needs a single workflow connected to the ERP it already runs. Another needs five systems sharing data, a team trained, and rules written for what goes into the AI tools.
So the price follows the work. A focused project in one system, with clean data and a small team, sits near $7,500. Work across several systems, with data to clean up, more people to train and stricter review, runs to $25,000 and beyond.
Either way you get a written scope and a fixed quote before anything starts. There’s no hourly meter running in the background.
What moves a project up or down the range.
Systems touched
One system is quicker than three. Every system the work reads from or writes to adds connection work and testing.
State of the data
Clean, consistent records go straight to work. Duplicates, old files and missing fields get fixed first, and that takes time.
People to train
A five-person office and a fifty-person company need different amounts of training, by role, on their own work.
Review and rules
Work for a regulated firm, or anything that touches customer data or money, needs written rules and review steps built in.
Onsite time
Most work runs remote. Onsite days across the Milwaukee area are a drive from Brookfield and get scoped in when seeing the work in person helps.
Help after launch
Some companies want ongoing help to extend and adjust what was built. It's optional and quoted separately.
What every engagement includes.
- Watching the work first. On a screen share or on your floor, before anything gets built.
- A written scope and a fixed quote. You know the number before you sign.
- Everything built in your accounts. Your Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, CRM or cloud account. You own it.
- A person approving every output. Nothing sends, posts or pays without someone checking it.
- Training for the people who use it. On their own tasks, so it gets used the next morning.
- Documentation. Written so your team or another firm can maintain it.
You work with me, the person who builds it.
I’m Josh Hohenstein, and Prometheus Consulting is me, based in Brookfield. There’s no handoff to a junior team after our first call. I scope the project, do the work, train your people and pick up the phone afterward.
I come at AI from the business side. I spent years inside companies running operations and marketing, worked as a financial advisor in a supervised business where client communications went through compliance review, and founded and exited a consulting firm in 2023. I know what a quote costs to produce, why follow-up slips when the week gets busy, and what an auditor asks to see. That’s where I start, before any tool comes up.
I also build. My own firm runs on the same kind of systems I set up for clients: content drafted with AI and approved by a person before it posts, lead tracking that shows where every inquiry came from, and reporting pulled straight from the systems that hold the numbers. I’ve completed OpenAI Academy and Anthropic Academy coursework on designing agents, building retrieval systems, evaluating AI applications and scoping AI projects, and I keep current as the tools change.
Before all of that came ten years in the U.S. Army Infantry, with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s where I learned to plan the work, name who owns each part, and finish it. The firm is service-disabled veteran-owned and registered in SAM.gov for federal and state work. More about me.
What working with me looks like:
- Plain English. No slide decks and no jargon. You hear what will change, what it costs and when.
- Straight answers. Including “you don’t need a consultant for this,” when that’s the truth.
- Built in your accounts. You own every system, prompt and document when the work is done.
- Quick to start. Our first working session is usually within a week of saying yes.
- Local when it helps. I’m onsite across the Milwaukee area and remote everywhere else.
And the skills I bring to the work:
AI in daily work
ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot and Gemini set up on business accounts, connected to the systems you run, with prompts and rules your team uses.
Automation and agents
Intake, quoting, invoicing and follow-up automated, and chatbots that answer from your own information.
Systems that talk to each other
ERP, accounting, CRM and email connected so nobody retypes the same thing twice, and the software nobody uses cut.
Marketing that answers every lead
CRM setup, follow-up email, local search and content drafted with AI, so every inquiry gets a fast, real reply.
Data and reporting
The numbers pulled from the systems that hold them and written up for the people who run the meeting.
Work for regulated firms
Review steps and records designed around who approves what. I've worked inside a supervised financial business, so I build them in from the start.
How it starts.
- Send a note or book a call. Say what’s slow, broken or eating hours. You don’t need to know the answer yet.
- A first conversation. Thirty minutes, free, about the work and the systems behind it.
- A written scope and quote. What gets built, in what order, and the price.
- Work starts. The first working session is usually within a week of saying yes.
Book a call or send a note.
Talk it through for 30 minutes.
Free, no preparation needed. Bring the task that takes the most time.
Questions about pricing.
- How much does Prometheus Consulting cost?
- Most work streams begin around $7,500 to $25,000 and up. Where a project lands depends on how many systems it touches, the state of the data, how many people need training and how much review the work needs. Every project gets a written scope and a fixed quote before it starts.
- How much does AI consulting cost in Milwaukee?
- Prometheus Consulting is based in Brookfield and works across the Milwaukee area, and most work streams begin around $7,500 to $25,000 and up. One workflow connected to one system sits near the low end. Work that spans several systems, needs data cleanup first or trains a larger team sits higher. The first conversation is free and ends with a written scope.
- What does an AI automation project cost?
- It depends on how many systems the automation reads from and writes to, and how closely its output has to be checked before it goes anywhere. A single automation usually starts around $7,500. A project that connects several systems or replaces a manual process across a team runs to $25,000 and up.
- Why isn't there a price for each service?
- Because the same service is a different job at different companies. Connecting AI to one clean system takes less work than connecting it to five, so a quote after a first conversation is more accurate than a menu.
- We don't know exactly what we need. Is that a problem?
- No. Most people who get in touch don't. The first conversation is for working that out, it takes 30 minutes, and it's free.
- Can we start small?
- Yes. Plenty of companies start with one workflow near the low end of the range, see it working, and decide what comes next from there.
- Is there ongoing support after launch?
- It's available and optional. Help after launch, to extend or adjust what was built, is quoted separately. Everything is documented so your own team or another firm can run it too.
