Who wrote it
Josh Hohenstein. Ten-year U.S. Army Infantry combat veteran. 75th Ranger Regiment. He founded and exited a multi-disciplinary consulting firm, generated over $10M in client value, and shipped 250+ AI deployments into production across businesses ranging from small professional-services firms to $500M industrial operations.
He wrote the book because his kids will inherit a world powered by AI — and he wants it deployed by love, not greed. That sentence is not a marketing line. It is the actual reason the book is built the way it is: oriented toward freeing people for the work only humans do, not taking the human out of the work as fast as possible.
The thesis
A subscription is using something with someone's permission. Most businesses will spend the next decade renting the tools their work runs on — one price change, one policy change, one lockout away from starting over.
